Mi Mama

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!! / FELIZ DIA DE LAS MADRES!!!

Today I will talk about my mom, I’ve talk about my dad but there is not much I’ve said about my mom. She is a very strong person, and because of that we fight all the time, because I’m also a strong person. In my family woman rules.

Matriarchy is a term, which is applied to gynocentric form of society,
in which the leading role is by the female and especially by the mothers
of a community.

This is a reality in my family….anyway my grandma had 7 kids, all raced in Mexico City, but after my grandfather lost his printing business thank to a devaluation in Mexico, they had to sell everything, my grandpa bought an scholar bus, and converted it into a mobile home, and they found a small quiet town and moved to Puerto Morelos, Cancun was only on the investors mind. In order to survive they used to sell breakfast to the people in town, and after a while bought a piece of land and start building first a restaurant and after, room by room, a hotel. They named it “Posada Amor” wich means “Love Inn”…. anyway I will tell you more of this story another time, now i will focus on my mom. She was 15 when she meet my dad, they felt in love – at list this is what they say – and got married, my dad was a hippie, so they travel for a while, and almost 2 years after, I appear in this world, and so they came back to Puerto Morelos, then was my brother Elias, and after, Gabriel, the baby.

My dad continue to be hippie and my mom had to find a job to support us while my dad was traveling, (in this world and out of this ha ha ha ha) Could you imagine being 20 years old and with 3 kids?? Now it’s very weird, I know back then it was very common. so, I got to be the second mom, she’s been working very hard to give us a better live. I know when we are young and stupid we don’t see all the effort our parents do to make a better live for us. So THANK YOU MOM, GRACIAS MAMA!!!!
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Hi! I just found your blog and I have spent WAY too long reading here! :) Great blog, beautiful jewelry and crafts. Also- I like that it’s bilingual.

I’m also a designer (I design websites) and used to do lots of crafts but haven’t been making much lately. I’m also 30 and live in Playa… strange small world, huh?
