My halloween’s Mad Hatter version

I know Halloween is nowhere near, but I wanted to share with you last year´s costumes I made for me and my friends. As must of us, I love Alice in wonderland, and I was so excited about the movie coming out. So me and my friends decided to go a party as Alice in wonderland´s characters. I made and designed all of the costumes. we had a blast!

The original

My version.

I wish I had a closer picture of the hat, it was just like the one Johny Deep was wearing in the movie. I used Threadbanger´s tutorial.

And for the makeup I used this tutorial… I can’t never get the white color smooth like she does.

The group

I have to say, we had the best costumes at the party, everybody was taking pictures of us, it was like we were celebrities arriving at the red carpet. Nice!!! ….What wasn´t very nice, was doing my hear like that… Ja ja ja I couldn´t find an orange wig here in Cancun, I had one blond and tried to painted with the colored hair spray but didn´t work quite well, so my last option was doing a hair crepe and paint it. Bad choice dough!!! It was a nightmare the day after, trying to get it nice and flat again, I had to use an entire bottle of conditioner. I´ll think about this twice before I decide to do it again.

Another costume I made.. Frida Kahlo

I didn’t use any tutorial for the makeup, just used some reference pics, but I found this, that you can use.

Moon bag, completed

Do you remember that I was trying to make a bag that I found on a magazine? well I have finished it, I know, it doesn’t look exactly like the magazine, but still I really liked the way it turn out to be. I leave the tutorial, sorry, I’m not very good writing tutorials but I’ll try to do my best.

T U T O R I A L

1.-  Cut 2 A, 2 B and 2 C, and 2 A for lining.
B has to be double the length of the inside curve.

2.- Fold B in half  lengthwise.
Make the gathering along the edge with basting stitches.

3.- Mark center of A and B
Pin gathered B to center and corners of A right sides facing
stitch around the edges of inside curve
Topstitch to finish
Do the same for other side of the bag.

4.- join 2 A right sides facing and stitch around outside curve
turn, and attach lining the easiest way you know.
(sorry about this part, it was a bit complicated to attach the lining and I can’t explain it in English)

5.- Fold C in half  lengthwise, stitch around the seam edges, leave one side open to turn, turn and iron to make your handles.
insert the handles into the gathered tube made from B, make a bow, and “taran” your bag is ready.

Sorry I told you I’m not very good with Tutorial, hope it works for you, I’ll try to take pictures of the process to explain better.

Chaos T Shirt, By compai

I run into this Recon T Shirt tutorial by Compai a while ago, and since my fisrt recostruction T shirt came out well I kind of loose the fear of sawing clothes. So here it is, this is my version of the Chaos T Shirt, I add some pleats to the sides and the top of what was left from the sleeves. I think I’m going to try it with a lighter cotton.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Empire cut Blouse, T-Shirt reconstruction with Tutorial

I’ve been fascinated with all the T shirt reconstruction I’ve seen around, so yesterday, I was bored and decided to make my own reconstruction.. I had a big t shirt (it was my mom’s) I trace it and start cutting… This is how it looks like, I can’t wear tight T-shirts, very often I get stomach inflammation because thanks to digestive problems, and sometimes I look like I’m 4 months pregnant, so this blouse is perfect for those days. Of course I need to perfection it but it wasn’t that bad for my first attempt, what do you think?

well I thought I made a tutorial of how I made it.. please bear with me since English is not my first language, and if something needs corrections or do you need more explanation please let me know, this will also be my first tutorial.

Mannequin

I have been asked about how I did the picture of the girl, and how i made the bag fit, here are some pics of how i made it. I work with Photoshop, but you can use any other software that lets you edit pics.

1st i open an image of a silhouette that you like, erase the background.

2nd i selected the silhouette and filled it with color desired.

3- make an outline to the silhouette, and here is the first part done.

4.- in order for the arm to appear on top, I copied the original image and erase everything but the arm.

5.- and apply the same steps before, select and fill.

6.- import the image of the bag, resize it an place it in front of the silhouette, you can do a) erased the bag just down the arm, b) or is easy to just put the arm fille before in fron of the bag, to make it look real. ( I don’t know why i did the other way )

here is an example of how i erased the arm over the bag, to place it in front.

7.-finally, just add some background color, and done.

I hope is not so hard to understand..
